The Creator of A.I.T.T.

Angel Reddick-Ross is a graduate student at the University of San Francisco, obtaining her Masters and Teaching Credential in Special Education.

As a Black woman and Special Educator, Angel witnessed firsthand the lack of knowledge about Special Education within the Black community. In addition to this, she identified a distinct disconnect between African American parents, specifically mothers, teachers in the public school system, and community leaders that support the families. 

 

With this issue in mind, Angel decided to base her thesis on the theories of intersectionality and intergroup dialogue across difference to further explore these three groups and their interwoven relationships. 

 

In an attempt to create a resource for parents, teachers, and community leaders to use as a hub for information about the Special Education world, this website was created as the field project for her thesis.

Moving forward, Ms. Reddick-Ross hopes to keep this website updated as a means of providing communities in the San Francisco Bay Area with substantial Special Education knowledge and resources for years to come.
